Discover Milextravel

What is Milextravel?
Milextravel is a global marketplace that connects you directly with independent local guides, activity schools (diving, kite-surfing, paragliding, cooking…), local agencies and other on-site providers. The idea: find the experience that suits you, live the destination like a local, and chat directly with the person or business that will run your experience. No middleman picking for you, no hidden margin.
Who offers experiences on the platform?
Every profile is possible: — Independent local guides: passionate people who know their region and share it. — Activity schools and clubs: diving, kite-surfing, surfing, paragliding, climbing, riding, etc. — Studios: cooking classes, craft workshops, dance, yoga. — Local agencies: building bespoke days or tours in their region. — Individual providers: chefs, skippers, photographers, driver-guides, artisans. They all meet the same conditions to publish on Milextravel: valid license (or waiver where not legally required), verified identity, complete profile.
How is it different from Viator or GetYourGuide?
Three main differences: — You choose your provider, not just your activity. Profile, reviews, spoken languages, specialties: you can compare before deciding, and message them directly before booking. — No hidden margin. Our 15% commission is set once, transparently. Providers set their own prices. Aggregators often inflate prices by 25 to 35% without making it explicit. — Direct messaging before and during the experience. To personalize, ask a question, or check a detail.

Booking an experience

How do I find the right experience?
You can browse by zone (a country, a city, a region) or by activity type (food, hiking, watersports, culture, etc.). You can refine with concrete filters: exclusive (just for you or your group) or in a group, kid-friendly, senior-friendly, transport included, wheelchair-accessible, etc. You see reviews, the languages spoken by the provider, and their detailed profile directly. If in doubt, you can message them before booking.
How do I choose my guide or provider?
On each profile, you find: — A self-written introduction (background, motivations, specialties). — Reviews from travelers who actually experienced one of their offerings. — The languages they speak. — An introduction video, in some cases, to help you get a feel. You can compare several profiles in the same zone and message them directly before booking to check the vibe, ask a question, or request a tweak.
How does a booking work?
In three steps: 1. You send a request from the experience page, with the date and number of participants. If you want something bespoke, you can spell it out. 2. The provider confirms (or proposes alternatives if unavailable). You can chat with them via integrated messaging until everything is clear. 3. You pay once the booking is accepted. The money is held safely for up to 72 hours after the experience, then released to the provider. This 72-hour buffer exists so you can flag any issue, before the provider receives their payment.
What does it cost? Are there hidden fees?
The price shown is the price you pay. It's set by the provider — no surcharge added by the platform. Our 15% commission is deducted on the provider side, not on top of what they announce. That's why for equivalent experiences, you'll often find Milextravel cheaper than mainstream aggregators, where margins can exceed 30% without transparency. No booking fee, no service fee. You see the price, you book, you pay that price.

Practical side

How do I pay? Is it secure?
Payment by card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay or Google Pay. The payment goes through an operator certified at the highest banking security level — we never store your full card number. The money is held in a secure account for up to 72 hours after your experience. This buffer exists to protect you: it gives you time to flag any issue before the provider receives their payment.
What if I cancel?
It depends on the type of experience: — Group experience: 100% refund up to 24 hours before. After that, you get 50% back (the other half covers the blocked spot the provider can't resell). — Exclusive experience (private, just for you or your group): 100% refund up to 14 days before. After that, you get 50% back (the provider blocked their whole day). — While your booking is not yet confirmed by the provider: cancellation is free, whatever the timing. — Force majeure (hospitalization, bereavement, severe weather preventing travel): full refund on proof, handled by our support. The exact conditions are reminded at booking time.
What if the provider cancels?
You get a full refund, no questions asked, within 5 to 10 business days. If the cancellation lands close to your travel date, our support helps you find a local alternative in the same zone if you'd like.
What if something goes wrong on site?
You can reach us directly via our contact form — we're available 7 days a week. As long as the payment hasn't been released to the provider (up to 72 hours after the experience), we can intervene to block the release, refund you, and arbitrate between you and the provider based on what happened. For disputes, we examine the in-platform messages, reviews, and any element you share with us. Our role is to arbitrate fairly — not to systematically protect one side or the other.
Why can the reviews be trusted?
Verified reviews are published only after a confirmed and completed experience — a traveler who never booked cannot leave one. You recognize them by the “Verified review” label. Some profiles also display reviews imported from other platforms (Trustpilot, off-platform past clients). They are labeled as such: you can use them as a complementary signal, but they don't carry the same evidential weight as a verified review.

Going further

What are Milextras?
Milextras are our loyalty programme — the equivalent of airline miles. With every booking on Milextravel, you automatically earn Milextras. You can then use them to reduce the cost of your future bookings. The principle: the more you travel with us, the less your next trips cost.
How does the referral program work?
If you've experienced something you loved, you can recommend Milextravel to a friend: they get a discount on their first booking, and you earn travel credit to use on the platform. The credit activates around ten days after your referee's first trip actually takes place — this delay exists to prevent abuse. No cap on the number of referrals, and Milextravel funds the programme (not a deduction from providers).
